About the Role

Gap Inc. is a leader in digitally powered commerce and connected experiences. Together, our iconic brands form a multi-brand, omnichannel engine that reaches millions of customers and associates across channels and touchpoints.

You will report to the SVP, Chief Product Officer, serving as the backbone of our product organization. This is not a back-office operations role — it's the engine that ensures our product vision is understood, connected, and activated across teams.

Our product organization is structured around three core journeys: Customer (shopping experiences across digital and in-store), Product (creating and distributing our apparel), and Enterprise (critical operating functions like finance, HR, and corporate systems). Each journey has its own product leadership. Your role is to ensure alignment and connection across all three — translating strategy into operational rhythm, not setting the strategy itself.
As Senior Director, Product Transformation & Enablement you will own the product org's operating model and cadence: what's centralized, what's federated to journey teams, and how it all connects. You'll orchestrate cross-journey alignment, elevate the craft of product management, steward our strategic partner relationships, and shape how the product org communicates its impact to the broader enterprise and executive leadership.

This is a pivotal leadership role for someone who moves fluidly between boardroom context and operational detail — equally comfortable absorbing a CPO-level conversation and translating it into action across teams. You bring strong facilitation skills, financial acumen, and the judgment to know which rooms we need to be in.

What You'll Do

Operating Model & Strategic Orchestration

Facilitate the design of the product org's operating model: planning cycles, calendars, and rhythms that keep the portfolio aligned to strategy. Orchestrate the translation of CPO-level strategy into operational plans, KPIs, and measurable outcomes across our Customer, Product, and Enterprise journeys. You're not the strategist. You're the one making sure strategy is activated across teams. Keep the organization looking forward by surfacing emerging trends, facilitating innovation sprints, and connecting the CPO to insights that inform strategic direction.

Communications & Storytelling

Own the airwaves. Shape how the product org tells its story, both internally within the team and outward to the broader enterprise, business partners, and executive leadership. Develop clear, data-driven executive narratives that articulate digital priorities, investment rationale, and enterprise impact. Bring together the broader story with strong direction and input from Journey Leads. Deliver compelling communications across written, video, and oral formats.

Forums, Events & Leadership Presence

Own our product management townhalls and ensure we are prepared and represented in the right leadership forums and cross-functional conversations, including GTS-wide and brand/function townhalls as needed. Pull us into the right rooms.

Product Management Craft

Build competency models that define what great product management looks like at Gap Inc. Partner with coaches and leaders across our three journey teams to raise the bar on PdM practice and close the gap between where we are and industry best-in-class. Drive continuous improvement in how teams work through scalable processes and delivery best practices.

Financial Stewardship

Partner with finance to monitor org-level spend and investment trends. Establish reporting frameworks that increase transparency into product health and resource allocation. Flag when things are off track and help drive course corrections.

Strategic Partner Management

Manage executive-level relationships with our top ~10 strategic technology and services partners. Establish the right cadence of executive briefings and ensure we're getting maximum value from those partnerships.

Who You Are

Experience & Expertise

  • 10+ years in product management, product operations, or a chief-of-staff role within a technology or digital product organization
  • Experience elevating product management craft within large-scale product organizations — with measurable impact on team capability, delivery quality, or outcomes maturity
  • A track record of building operating models, frameworks, and cadences that drive alignment across large, matrixed, multi-brand organizations
  • Experience managing executive-level vendor/partner relationships
  • Deep experience in digital commerce and product delivery models
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strongly AI-enabled — you personally leverage AI tools to multiply your effectiveness and have experience driving AI adoption into team ways of working
  • The ability to move fluidly between strategy and execution — comfortable in a CPO-level conversation and equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves
  • Strong facilitation skills — you drive decisions without dictating them
  • Excellent communication skills with a knack for simplifying complexity
  • Financial acumen — you can read trends and take action
  • Highly analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Inclusive team builder and strategic communicator
