Additional Resources

Time Away

We understand the importance of offering our employees enough time away to feel refreshed and recharged. We provide PTO days for vacation, personal time, or illness. In addition to this, we observe up to eight company-paid holidays per year (ranging from 6-8 depending on work division). Further, in certain jurisdictions, the company provides paid sick leave for eligible employees.   

Additionally, eligible employees have access to various leave of absence plans including short- and long-term disability and paid family leave.

Beginning July 2023 

  • Full-time PTO eligible employees below Director level
    • Accrue annually 15 PTO days (defined as 8 hours worked) to start based on 40 hours/week worked.  Accrual is recognized at each pay date.  
    • Granted 5 Personal Holidays (defined as total 40 hours worked) at the start of our benefits plan year (July).  These days are immediately available to use.  The total days available will be prorated on the first year based on when the employee joins.  Store Brand Associates with less than 5 years of continuous service are not eligible for Personal Holidays
  • Employees in positions of Director-level and above are eligible for PTO on an “As Needed” basis and may be used for any reason; subject to business needs; there is no PTO accrual.  
  • Company Paid Holidays (in addition to Personal Holidays)
    • Headquarters and Field Leadership roles are offered 7 Recognized Company paid holidays (defined as 8 hours worked, equivalent to 1 standard workday, for each holiday) in a given calendar year. 
    • Store Salaried (exempt) positions are eligible for 6 Company paid holidays (defined as 1 standard workday for each holiday) in a given calendar year.  
    • Customer Experience Center Employees are eligible for up to 8 combined Company Holidays or Floating Holidays (defined as 1 standard workday for each holiday) in a given calendar year 

 

Life, Disability and Accident Insurance

We offer a variety of comprehensive insurance options subsidized by Gap Inc. for eligible employee needs. If you are part-time employee, you also have access to free and discounted options. 

Merchandise Discount

We offer 50% off regular-priced merchandise at Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, and Athleta, and 30% off at Outlet, for all employees and their spouses or domestic partners. 

Commuter Benefits

Our commuter benefit program administered by WageWorks lets you save money on eligible commuting costs through automatic, pre-tax payroll deductions. Use pre-tax dollars to help pay for the commute to and from work via transit, rideshares, and qualified paid parking. 

Mental Well-Being

We understand life has its ups and downs and the mental health of all our employees is something we prioritize.  

 

Employee Assistance Program

Through our mental health benefit and Employee Assistance Program, all employees and their dependents can access 12 mental health sessions at no cost.

Note: If you are a part-time employee, you will become eligible for Gap Inc. matching contributions after completing 1,000 hours of service within the first 12 consecutive months from hire date.

We offer an opportunity for all employees to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Plan allowing employees to contribute a percentage of their base pay to Gap Inc. stock at a discount.

Family Planning

We offer many family building benefits to support our employees on their path to growing their family. These includes: 

  • We offer up to 12 weeks of paid time off for Parental Leave for natural birth, adoption and surrogacy. Employees become eligible for this after six months of continuous service and 24 + hours average/week. We also offer a flexible work arrangement program for eligible employees before and after their Family leave. 
  • We offer our employees free access to the insight and tools to make wise choices at every step of the fertility process. Eligible employees can also participate in advance fertility support through our healthcare plan.  

Adoption Assistance

We realize that adoptions can be an expensive, stressful, and time-consuming process. To help you in your effort to adopt a child, Gap Inc. offers the Adoption Assistance Reimbursement Plan, which provides financial support to eligible employees with the high cost of public, private, or international adoptions of children under 18 years of age. 

Family Care

We are committed to supporting all employees so that you can make the most of every minute. We offer access to care providers for you and your family at the touch of a finger through Bright Horizon. We also offer eligible employees the opportunity to enroll in a Dependent (Day) Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to save tax-free dollars to pay for child or adult dependent. 

 

Volunteering

Full-time employees can take up to five “on the clock” hours each month to volunteer at a charity of their choice. We also match donations employees make to charities of their choice up to an annual limit based on the employee’s job level.
