About the Role

Challenging. Analytical. Game Changing. IM Ready is a 90-day immersion and training program that leads to a role within our Inventory Management or Online function at Old Navy, a division of Gap Inc. brands. Through this program, Old Navy hires into the positions of Inventory Analyst, Allocation Analyst, Assistant Digital Merchandiser, and Assistant Buyer.

In this unique on-boarding approach, trainees gain real life exposure to the business before taking ownership over it. All trainees are matched with a coach, buddy and mentor who will guide their learning journey, which consists of hands-on learning, classroom instruction, job shadowing, case studies & projects, as well as homeroom-like sessions.

On your first day as a trainee in the IM Ready program you are provided with full Gap Inc. benefits which include: full medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; Employee Stock Purchase Plan; 401(k) matching; employee merchandise discount in Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic stores; 20 days (annually) of paid time off.

What You'll Do

Positions available:

Inventory Analyst
•    Provide data analysis to support tops/down sales and inventory plans that align with division objectives
•    Support style level, bottoms-up sales and inventory plans
•    Assist in validating Commercial Plan
•    Provide data analysis to support business recaps, in-season forecasting/OTB buying, and demand driven buying efforts
•    Execute in-season price strategies (promo/MD)
•    Own professional development in collaboration with manager
•    Support/participate in a collaborative, innovative and results-orientated environment
•    1-2 work years preferred

Allocation Analyst
•    Provide data analysis to support tops/down sales and inventory plans that align with division objectives
•    Execute plans in line with style/class level allocation and financial forecasts
•    Track inbound inventory levels to ensure smooth execution of strategies
•    Identify issues and proactively communicate problems to the broader cross functional team
•    Support the commercial plan by ensuring marketed product is tracked and prioritized through logistics network
•    Report out on service levels to cross-functional team
•    Execute plans to improve service levels
•    Recap and optimize sizing and packing strategies to improve store in-stock and customer experience
•    Identify and escalate inventory issues to manager in a prompt manner
•    Execute store inventory callouts, DC capacity constraints, or other business issues in a timely manner
•    Participate in the development of Seasonal Inventory allocation strategies that support the Investment review strategy
•    Develop flow forecasts that support the financial plans, receipt projections, and in-season allocation strategies
•    Identify styles within Demand Forecast that are below target service levels and work with Manager to improve
•    Influence cross functional partners to drive outcomes
•    Support/participate in a collaborative, innovative and results-orientated environment
•    1-2 years work experience preferred

Assistant Digital Merchandiser
•    Support and communicate the management of inventory that supports the merchandising, marketing and financial objectives of a category within Old Navy Online
•    Support the development and communication of category product strategies that align with financial goals for the season.
•    Meet category sales, GM, and inventory goals.
•    Support in-season management of department/class level plan including ongoing assessments and updates.
•    Execute category pricing strategies that align with the financials plans
•    Support seasonal hindsight strategies used to inform pre-line.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to achieve category goals
•    Execute to strategic product vision that delivers against assortment.
•    Execute to vision of product experience on the site.
•    Support customer experience across both mobile and desktop supported by a deep knowledge of technical features and functionality with an understanding how the site functions (limitations and opportunities)
•    Foster open communication and a team environment with all business partners
•    Accountable for work commitments and outcomes

Assistant Buyer
•    Drive in-season business through weekly promotion and markdown changes 
•    Manage monthly open to buy forecast 
•    Analyze and report current business and be able to adapt new strategies to changing business 
•    Develops and builds department & class level plans that support market/division strategy 
•    Develops and builds pre-season style plans and recommends investment quantities in line with commercial plan and financial goals 
•    Manages the reconciliation of class-to-department bottoms-up plans. Understands product trends, historical data and departmental input at category/class level and applies learnings into future product strategies. 
•    Roadmap/Assorts based on market specific seasonality, sales trends and opportunities while maintaining the Global Old Navy product vision. 
•    Understands competitive environment; drives pricing strategy, proactively seeks market knowledge. 
•    Work with Planning Analysts to ensure proper inventory flow for the right store, right size, right place, right time

Who You Are

•Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math
•Systems and Tools Acumen: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
•Process Management: Able to create and organize work and processes to get things done in the most efficient manner
•Possess strong organizational and time management skills
•Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skill
•Must be able to start March 2022
