About the Role
The Principal Engineer will be responsible for delivery of a significant portion of the TechOps portfolio. A key aspect of this role is the development of strong partnerships with cross-functional teams while maintaining best in class customer experience. The Principal Engineer will manage leaders of multiple teams, providing key support for hiring, conflict resolution and senior leadership updates. Additionally, the Principal Engineer is responsible for driving technical solutions for TechOps’s strategy & roadmap in support of our proactive Digital Operations model.
What You'll Do
- Leading development and delivery of working software of the TechOps portfolio
- Manage leaders to determine priorities, drive to success and maintain best in class operations
- Partner with senior leadership to drive progress, assess risk and resolve conflict.
- Influence change across the organization toward modernization and adoption of preferred technologies
- Support Gap Inc goals and milestones by partnering with architects, engineers, infosec and vendors to strategize, define and rollout solutions
- Support multiple, complex, long term projects simultaneously.
- Develop and nurture a leadership pipeline
Who You Are
- BS in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline
- Experience in leading and managing teams including setting goals, implementing effective engineering processes and ensuring ongoing alignment to the organization.
- Experience working with multiple complex projects concurrently; familiarity with agile and scrum project management
- Experience with tech portfolio that includes, but not be limited to the following areas: data integration & messaging, compute, storage, virtualization and database services modernization products.
- Excellent communication skills, passion for learning, collaboration with others and being an all-around customer advocate

Salary Range: $158,100 - $228,800 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
