About the Role

As a member of our Experience Team at Gap, Inc., you’ll shape how customers engage with our multi-billion-dollar portfolio of global brands. You will help enable the design team to focus their time on designing and shipping great products, as well as ensure design has a high bar for quality.

This person leads UX execution of select projects to drive cross-team communication and proactively remove obstacles or blockers that may get in the way of delivery. This role focuses on project planning, execution, resource management/allocations, budget management, change management, and being the central hub to drive the UX team forward. Additionally, the UX program manager is focused on operational processes, including executing/managing external vendor agreements, team templates, asset organization, and iterative recommendation/implementation changes to team methods and frameworks.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the delivery of multiple UX-led projects while working with UX and product leads to understand project pain points and identify opportunities to move the project forward.
  • Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks to project timelines or deliverables.
  • Define and track dependencies and ensure the impact of scope changes is understood and the ramifications are communicated.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to partners in Onboarding, HR, Recruiting, Vendors, and Communications.
  • Support the development of the UX budget and track the budget against quarterly planning actuals.
  • Produce key organization programming, including all-hands, educational events, and team recognition.
  • Build a process that would optimize designers’ day-to-day workflow—maximize engagement and reduce duplicated efforts.
  • Improve and expand the onboarding program for contractors, IC’s, and managers.

Who You Are

  • 7-10+ years of industry experience, including relevant experience in UX operations or program management functions within a product or design organization
  • You chart a path forward in ambiguity and demonstrate problem-solving leadership with limited oversight
  • You have a deep understanding of the design process and product development and extensive experience in driving projects focused on product design and research.
  • Skilled in running basic financial operations and reporting, experience handling contracts, and leading vendor selection processes.
  • Self-directed and hands-on approach, with the ability to initiate new efforts independently and make trade-offs against critical project timelines and priorities.
  • You are a natural communicator with the ability to deliver difficult or complex messages and a consistent history of effective communication at an executive level.
  • You can build a solid internal and external network of personal relationships to identify issues and opportunities and provide constructive perspectives to others.
  • Nice to have:
