What you'll do

  • Sets overall direction in Trend and Innovation for Women’s Intimates and Swim including swim outfitting/cover ups.
  • Fully responsible for managing staff in all aspects of entire product design process to include market research, mood board creation, designing, sketching, fit process.
  • Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates staff, along with Manager.
  • Responsible for managing and providing creative direction to design team
  • Needs to have strong relationships with cross functional teams to help create the line from end-to-end process. Working closely with R&D, PD, Tech and Merch to make sure the seasonal line creation is clear.
  • Fully responsible for ensuring that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy; interprets international/domestic concepts and fashion trends as it relates to market demands, company image and business strategy.
  • Oversees selection of fabric and trim.
  • Needs to be a strong partner, communicator and collaborator across intimates/ slounge/ swim, working not only on your product but making sure the stories thread through across the categories and are cohesive to the family messaging. Working in partnership with kids/ baby where applicable for clarity in Big Ideas.
  • Provides overall recommendations and sets tone regarding style and fit of product(s) during presentations.
  • Ensures consistency of look between differing businesses to tell clear Big Ideas (e.g., main line & performance active line where trends cross over. &/or between adult & Kids/Baby)

Who you are

  • In-depth knowledge of design techniques and processes with a focus on swimwear and bra/underwear/intimates expertise.
  • Excellent leadership/management skills.
  • Ability to set overall creative tone and lead creative design process.
  • Ability to convey aesthetic vision to leadership and key vendors, cross functional partners.
  • Excellent sense of style, trend, color, including print & pattern.
  • Proven excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to deal with managerial issues (i.e. career development, performance management).
  • College degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • 7- 10 years design experience including 4 years of managerial experience.
  • Ability to use personal computer.
  • Frequent travel is required.
