In partnership with the Art Director the

Associate Art Director

will art direct, plan and manage seasonal secondary storytelling content. You are an excellent photo art director, conceptual thinker and detail-oriented photo planning puzzler. You also love bringing product ideas to life through compelling brand right imagery and have experience in bringing imagery/content to life in design. You take initiative and are independent and thrive when collaborating with the creative and cross-functional teams. You are an inept multi-tasker, able to manage many projects at once without sacrificing quality.

The Associate Art Director will also be responsible for contributing to brand brainstorm & concept sessions with the creative leadership team and pushing the brand forward.

What you'll do

  • Support Sr Creative Director/Art Directors and lead team to develop strategic marketing campaign concepts, promotions and provide creative solutions that are brand right and meets business objectives.

  • Lead multiple projects and manage/motivate multiple teams of designers

  • Work with styling team, editorial and photo account partners on bringing product stories to life in wireframes, shot lists, and shoot direction and design implementation.

  • Works strategically to maintain brand consistency and usher new ideas and solutions

  • Coordinates a multi-disciplinary creative team throughout all stages of design

  • Translates business and marketing objectives into effective imagery and designs that meet schedules and budgets.

  • Participates as a contributor to a cross-functional team that includes creative leads, brand management, marketing, and studio/project management, photo production and account.

  • Presents work and displays effective communication to business partners and senior management.

Who you are

  • 7+ years of photo art direction and design leadership experience.

  • At least 3+ of those years managing creatives

  • Portfolio that shows campaign/content experience across email, direct mail, site assets, (plus for paid media and paid social).

  • BA or BFA preferred in Graphic Design/Communication Design/Advertising

  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe programs: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Apple: Keynote

  • Expert in idea generation, as well as collaboration with editorial and design partners. Experience in creating big idea concepts for campaigns.

  • Solid organizational skills, detail-oriented; time management skills, ability to juggle priorities.

  • Strong relationship-building skills; ability to collaborate and work with a variety of people in various disciplines.

  • Strong presentation skills, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal and building/designing concept presentations.

  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation and consensus-building skills.

  • Knowledge and experience in retail, beauty/fashion and understand current industry related trends
