About the role
The strategy function at Athleta is a critical part of defining our path forward. Through rigorous analysis, focus on the competition and customer, creative thinking, and deep partnership with the key stakeholders across the business, we help drive profitable growth and increased market share. As Sr. Manager, Strategy & PMO, you’ll be an integral part of the team bringing the next chapter of Athleta’s mission and values to life.
As Sr. Manager, you will be charged with managing critical projects to advance our priorities, growth, and long range planning. You will be in the unique position to connect broadly with leaders in the brand, and bring together the best strategic thinking to drive our brand forward. A significant portion of the work for the next 12 months will be leading the PMO for Athleta’s growth strategy – you will be focused on providing the organization and structure that will support Athleta’s growth initatives and associated workstreams. You will drive rigorous processes and governance to ensure decisions are made timely and definitively, with the objective of positioning Athleta for increased success. This cross-functional role will focus on supporting everything from digital workstreams to community efforts and exploring new market entry. In addition, you will be integral in helping shape our brand’s thinking on future strategy and innovation.
What you'll do
Identify opportunities and drive innovation in customer experience through new business models and/or new capabilities
Support recurring efforts to drive insights and build knowledge of key market, competitor, and consumer dynamics
Serve as a mentor / leader for more junior team members to support work planning, hypotheses generation, issue identification, analytical framework development, and career development/growth
Leverage project management skills to create an integrated plan across workstreams to support Athleta’s 2x growth initiatives. Activities include:
Develop and manage project plan deliverables; including charters, timelines, meeting templates, resources, budget
Publish project statuses on a regular basis based on needs of the project and audience
Lead key milestone and decision meetings and discussions with various leaders and project team members
Who you are
6+ years of professional work experience, preferably with some experience in retail and strategic management consulting
Demonstrated track record as an outstanding problem-solver and strategic thinker and proven ability to build strong working relationship and able to collaborate with all levels
Comfort with analytical and financial modeling, ability to work with large / complex data sources, and deep understanding of how to link strategy to implementation / financial plans
Able to work in and bring structure to ambiguous environments independently
Able to synthesize disperse information into effective strategies and innovative insights, translating complex ideas into simple, actionable recommendations
Experience managing strategic initiatives that involves multiple functions, work streams, interdependencies and tight timelines
