Old Navy

January 22, 2020

Not only is Kimberly Cooper, Director of E-Commerce Operations, part of Old Navy’s Online wonder team, she’s a digital guru who dreams about ways to improve the customer’s shopping experience and a Bachelor aficionado. Read on to learn more about Kim and what makes her #oldnavyproud.

HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN WITH THE BRAND AND WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO OLD NAVY:

I’ve been with the company for 7 years. I started out as an Assistant Producer and continued to find opportunities within the E-Commerce Production sphere. I ultimately came to Old Navy because I really wanted to get my foot in the door with a major retailer that I grew up with.

HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR ROLE:

My team helps to build new experiences and programs for the site and as part of that, we need to be experts in how the site comes together. It ends up being a fine balance between project management, issue resolution, and tool wizardry.

COOLEST PART OF YOUR JOB/WHY PEOPLE SHOULD JOIN THE ONLINE TEAM:

There are so many different digital teams that are involved with supporting the E-Commerce business. Part of my job is to consider all of the individual digital initiatives and put together the larger picture on how everything fits together. It’s very cool to see how a small change in one area could have a huge impact to the business in another area. It’s one big puzzle every day.

BIGGEST CHALLENGE FOR ONLINE BIZ:

Our biggest challenge – and what excites me the most – is how we drive the business and continue to improve the customer’s digital shopping experience in today’s fast-paced world where technology is constantly being disrupted. I truly believe that success lies in keeping the customer at the center of every decision we make.

GOAL FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR:

My goal for the year is to live the “inbox zero” lifestyle. Two weeks into the year and I am still going strong!

FAVORITE PIECE OF ADVICE:

Best advice I ever received was to read the book How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. It’s a master class in how to work with people.

WHAT MAKES YOU #OLDNAVYPROUD:

I sincerely love my Digital Production + E-Commerce Operations team. They’re just the best humans and I could not be prouder to have them as my co-workers. We also just re-started our annual “Bachelor” Fantasy League (the winner gets major bragging rights) and that makes me very proud. ☺
