About the Role

The HR Business Partner, East Region, will serve as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisor to the Regional Director and District Managers across the East Region. In this role, you will blend strong HR technical expertise with a passion for coaching, collaboration, and building high-performing teams. You will deliver HR solutions that drive engagement, performance, and organizational strength while aligning with Athleta’s values and mission to move the world forward by igniting the Power of She.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Regional Director and District Managers to drive people strategies that strengthen leadership capability, elevate performance, and fuel team engagement.
  • Provide thought leadership and support on people and organizational issues, leveraging resources, programs, and tools across Gap Inc. HR centers of excellence (Talent Management, Employee Relations, Total Rewards, Recruiting, Learning & Development).
  • Actively advise leaders on the people and organizational impact of business decisions; ensure change and transformation plans are thoughtfully executed.
  • Lead talent management and succession planning activities to create a strong and diverse pipeline of “ready now” leaders.
  • Deploy retention strategies that build belonging, stability, and momentum across the region.
  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and opportunities; develop and implement solutions that enhance business outcomes.
  • Champion inclusivity, foster belonging, and ensure every employee experience reflects Athleta’s values.
  • Collaborate with leaders to inspire confidence, fuel performance, and deliver high-performing teams that win together.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, Business, or related field.
  • Proven HR technical background across key disciplines including employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a retail environment.
  • Demonstrated success supporting a field organization, including multi-unit leadership structures.
  • Strong business orientation, ability to analyze data, and drive results that align with business goals.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and coaching skills with a proven ability to build authentic, trusted partnerships.
  • Passion for Athleta’s mission and values, with the ability to tell our story and model our culture in every interaction.

Salary Range: $98,000 - $141,400 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
