About the Role
As a Sr. Analyst on the Consumer Insights team, your work encompasses execution of research from planning, fielding, analysis and reporting to deliver data-based insights that clearly drive action. You have a very good understanding of standard research methodologies and are a trusted partner by your stakeholders. You approach ambiguous questions with curiosity and can create a research plan to answer them, with support from your leader.

What You'll Do
Research Project Planning and Execution
- Scoping:
- Ability to independently translate ambiguous business questions into an initial research plan that is then shared for refinement (with leader and stakeholders)
- Own the scheduling and conduct a kickoff meeting including an agenda to discuss research objectives, hypotheses, business priority, timing and budget)
- Proactive collaboration with leader to align on budget and priority as well as thought-partnership on approach.
- Research Execution:
- Planning: Creation of project timeline with key milestone dates (kick off, draft guide/survey, programming, field, report draft, shareout).
- Proactive delivery of project timeline to stakeholders which includes regular updates on progress and advance/proactive notification of any roadblocks that impact the timeline.
- Execution: Development of research stimuli (discussion guide, survey), including meeting with business partners to take them through.
- Collaboration with research leaders and peers to gain thought partnership on innovative or new ways to answer or solve problems (collaboration beyond just sending an email for request for feedback, specifically collaboration in person to understand the breadth and depth of the problems being asked to solve)
- Ensure the broader CI Brand team is informed on project progress and updates; collaborate across the team to incorporate brand-specific context and nuances into cross-brand initiatives. This requires strong project management skills and a high level of organization.
- Reporting: Create and deliver high quality reports leveraging insights to offer strategic recommendations that are actionable by the business
- Seeks out for ways to ‘connect the dots’ using other sources (e.g., Medallia, YouGov, other data sources or past research) to support your story/findings.
- Proactively solicit review and feedback (for quality and thought partnership) from internal CI team and leader prior to sharing with stakeholders.
- Create and deliver presentations of your reports that showcase you as a strong storyteller who is focused more on the ‘so what’ than the data point itself.
- Build and own the creation of custom tracking deliverables by synthesizing data across multiple sources and teams; exceptional attention to detail is critical to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Follow up post-research delivery to understand impact of your work (e.g., how were the insights used in the business, what did they influence, what was acted on, and what could be improved in the future)
- Vendors: Some experience working with and managing third party vendors end-to-end on projects
- Proactive collaboration with vendor to ensure timeline and budget stay adhered to
- Active participation in research execution including:
- Regular check ins
- Participation in all qualitative research sessions
- Active dialog on early data reads/insights to help shape the reporting/story based on your awareness of business needs
- Thorough report review and edit to ‘own’ the deliverable as a Gap Inc. deliverable and ensure high qualityelevancy and impact to business needs
- Post-mortem follow up to provide feedback to the vendor via proactive solicitation of impact from stakeholders/team/leader

Who You Are
- 2 - 3 years substantial professional experience in Marketing Research, Consumer Insights, and/or Strategy/Strategic Management consulting
- Proven record of delivering consumer-led business outcomes
- Strong knowledge of quantitative research design and methodologies, including when and how to apply them effectively
- Bonus: Experience designing and executing ongoing tracking programs, with an understanding of how to maintain consistency, accuracy, and relevancy over time
- A natural curiosity: always asking the next question and seeking to understand at the nuanced level to spark a new idea.
- Ability to synthesize information into a clear, simple story and visualize data
- Positive attitude of Own it, Do it, Done; Enjoys learning from and teaching others
- Trusted by peers and business partners who enjoy working with you
- Exceptional knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Salary Range: $92,900 - $123,200 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
