About the Role

The Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting the Global PR team across all seasonal campaigns, special projects, collaborations, and always-on initiatives. The role requires strong collaboration, intuition, and communication, partnering with the PR internal team, PR agency, and broader marketing and cross functional brand teams on a regular basis to drive brand awareness through daily communication with media to generate high-quality earned editorial for the brand and is responsible for developing the seasonal and yearly PR planning calendar. The Public Relations Assistant Manager is an integral member of the team who will provide support to the entire PR team to ensure a successfully organized department within a fast paced, energetic and iconic brand.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and execute seasonal product placement strategies across fashion, culture, entertainment, beauty and lifestyle media
  • Build and maintain relationships with editors, stylists, creators, influencers and key industry contacts to support earned media visibility
  • Partner with the Talent Relations team to support stylist outreach, celebrity dressing opportunities and product placement strategies tied to key brand campaigns and launches
  • Support development of timely, culturally relevant story angles and proactive pitching strategies that drive earned media coverage
  • Lead and execute VIP, stylist, influencer and creator seeding programs across core brand campaigns, collaborations and always-on product stories
  • Manage communications calendars, media lists, coverage reporting, press assets and PR organizational systems across global initiatives
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day workflow of PR sample coordination, including editorial requests, warehouse orders, trafficking and shipment tracking
  • Serve as the PR lead for cross-functional sample troubleshooting and operational support
  • Maintain organization of PR assets, including imagery, press releases, lookbooks, campaign materials and pitching calendars
  • Support invoice submission, vendor onboarding and budget tracking processes for the PR team
  • Support PR strategy and execution for growth-driving businesses, including GapBody, Beauty, Kids and Baby
  • Support PR event strategy, VIP management and on-site execution for media, influencer and brand events

Who You Are

  • Actively gets tasks done and is driven by accountability and sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills to deliver maximum impact
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized, with an ability to manage multiple workstreams at one time
  • Understanding and appreciation of the fashion industry and the value of earned media attention through public relations efforts
  • Self-starter with high level of initiative and a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong communication, written and verbal skills
  • Creates with Audacity: Actively looking to be a problem solver by coming up with creative ideas on how to get tasks done in a timely, efficient, and effective manner
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Marketing preferred. PR agency experience is a plus.
  • 2-3 years experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, Airtable, Microsoft Office with strong PowerPoint and Excel experience. InDesign, Photoshop skills are a bonus

Salary Range: $76,400 - $95,500 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
