About the Role

This hands-on Staff Systems Engineer role will support our Pivotal Cloud Foundry(PCF)/Tanzu Application Service (TAS) planfrom, which hosts 1000s of micro serices, java ode js based applications. This individual will maintain/manage the PCF/TAS platforms in both prod on prod environments, which includes the upgrades of the platform while using/building the automation pipepelines.. This role may be required to cover 24x7 rotational schedule for production support.

What You'll Do

  • Create, implement and manage Pivotal Cloud Foundry(PCF)/Tanzu Application Service (TAS) deployments while using tools bosh cli, cf cli, concourse pipelines
  • Provide expertise for operational management of Pivotal Cloud Foundry on monitoring, management, disaster recovery, security compliance/auditing, networking, storage, service brokers and buildpacks
  • Develop and deliver configuration and deployment automation through PCF/TAS required for continuously improving the functionality, availability, and manageability of platform and associated services.
  • Help apps migration from PCF to Kubernetes (Azure Kubernetes Service)
  • Use unix/linux scripting tools to build automation, pipelines for platfom management and troubleshooting.
  • Own full spectrum and platform support activities life cycle for both internal and external customers
  • Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot the application issues. Also, troubleshoot the platform, pipeline issues while maintaining/building the automated concourse pipelines using YAML script.
  • Meet and communicate regularly with the Engineering teams, updating them on product needs from customer perspective, and align your understanding of the product vision
  • Be the liaison for regular communication between various engineering teams and customer-facing teams on issues and product changes
  • Develop runbooks, how-to guides, and Leverage automation framework to improve processes, automate deployment, and improve manageability of environment
  • Analyze reported issues, production outages, production logs, and customer feedback to identify ways to enhance our product as well as make support processes more effective
  • Perform tasks that are often unstructured and address issues that are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches
  •  Advanced troubleshooting and monitoring of service systems to ensure adequate SLA, capacity and expansion requirements are met for all customers
