About the Role
The Vice President, Head of Digital is a key role on the Banana Republic Digital Leadership Team that balances the art and science of ecommerce. We’re looking for an inspirational, high-energy visionary who will elevate Banana Republic’s digital expression through industry-leading website, app, media and omni customer experiences and drives financial results.
This is a pivotal moment to join the team. Digital is a key growth driver of our brand, and it is important to have someone influence and optimize all aspects of our digital platforms end-to-end. That includes ensuring we’re building a world-class and elevated customer experience, thoughtfully integrating emotional and captivating stories, supporting the evaluation and integration of new technical features to increase conversion, and ensuring our customer has a frictionless, and inspiring digital brand experience.
You will be responsible for full P&L ownership across our digital channels and contribute meaningfully to the overall strategic vision for how this critical channel is going to help us achieve ambitious business and brand goals over the year. That includes owning and evolving the strategy & priorities across the digital experience and overseeing the cross-functional processes to enable customer-facing category experience (navigation, product content) in accordance with business strategy & priorities.
You’ll also activate and inspire a highly talented team and support them through the inevitable highs and lows of a very dynamic business. We’re looking for a cultural leader who can bring out the best in those around them, and ensure we have the psychological safety, growth mindset, and sense of purpose needed to do career-defining work.
Salary Range: $320,000-$350,000
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
What You'll Do
- Define and lead a best-in-class digital vision across site and app that brings the Banana Republic brand to life in a compelling, modern way.
- Elevate the customer journey through intuitive navigation and frictionless UX.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, tools, and capabilities that enhance the customer experience and drive conversion.
- Partner closely with Global Technology Solutions to evolve platform capabilities and scalability.
- Stay ahead of digital and cultural trends, ensuring Banana Republic remains relevant and competitive.
- Identify areas of opportunity for the brand to push the brand’s digital experience forward and unlock new growth potential.
Strategic Orientation
- Leads the brand’s strategic digital roadmap that supports brand and business objectives
- Predicts and capitalizes on business opportunities and risks in-season through utilizing sales performance and marketplace information.
- Participates in key decisions as both a member of the Banana Republic leadership team and the Gap Inc. central digital team to ensure digital best practices are in place.
Customer Impact
- Ensures our online experience is constantly evolving and elevating to meet our customer’s needs and biggest business opportunities.
- Ensures product news and big ideas are translated into an elevated site experience with a focus on storytelling through our digital capabilities.
Collaborate + Influence
- Collaborates with enterprise digital team to develop key digital experiences and potential UX tests for consideration and prioritization.
- Leads, directs, and develops the digital team composed of multiple functions.
- Encourage cross-functional partnership to align with business and project goals and to develop improved processes.
Inspire and Develop Teams
- Build and inspire a diverse, world-class digital organization through mentorship and ongoing development.
- Lead a culture of high-performing teams with clear priorities and expectations
- Attract and retain exceptional creative talent with a focus on growth, curiosity, and collaboration.
Business Accountability
- Oversight for E-commerce, with close partnership on Retention and Media teams to influence digital decisions.
- P&L Ownership: Accountable for delivering annual sales and profit targets for a large proportion of the total brand’s business.
Who You Are
- Ecommerce Leadership: 12+ years ecommerce background with proven track record of driving results in retail.
- Business Drivers Leadership: Highly developed understanding of e-commerce business drivers impacting top and bottom line, as well at the ability to interpret digital analytics to drive strategy.
- P&L Leadership: Proven track record of managing P&L, leading business strategy, commercial planning, and driving results
- Team Leadership: Deep experience leading cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical experts to drive a common vision.
- Personal Leadership: Demonstrated executive presence, ability to navigate complexity, work with creative and technical teams, and collaborate across a senior leadership team.
- Change Leadership: Experience leading through significant change & transformation to move on organization forward in a financially responsible way.
- Talent Builder: Proven track record of assessing, attracting and developing best in industry leaders and teams.
