About the role
The Old Navy Inventory Strategy team strives to make Old Navy Inventory Management best in class through innovation and global process optimization as great partners and functional experts. This role plays a crucial role in the transformation of our Inventory Management function and partners with IM leadership to drive change within the organization. The Manager of Inventory Strategy will focus on using data insights to deliver insightful change to IM, which includes partnering with Gap Inc analytic teams and strategy leads in Merchandising, Production, and Allocation to implement new ways of working. This includes owning analysis that drives operational insights, collaborating on working committees for new system implementations, and influencing partners at various levels in the organization. What you'll do
Uses strategic and operational insights to assess inventory effectiveness
Connects advanced analytics into business processes
Expert in Inventory Management process, systems, and tools
Contributes to implementation of new systems and process and leads organization through change
Develops and implements plans to improve inventory effectiveness
Owns sustainability of capabilities that support the brand transformation goals
Leads continuous improvement initiatives for the Inventory Management function
Communicates issues and solutions to leadership, technical teams and impacted stakeholders
Proactively fosters brand and cross functional relationships
Influences Inventory Management leadership and cross-functional leadership
Collaborates with functional leaders and project working groups to find solutions, drive results, and gain buy in on analyses and process recommendations
Who you are
3-5 years of experience in Inventory Management or Management Consulting
Experience in leading system / tool projects for a business is required
Background in planning or related function is preferred
Expert in Microsoft Excel and in retail analytics data models
Demonstrated technical knowledge of Old Navy Inventory Management applications (or equivalent)
Demonstrated strategic agility ability to anticipate and articulate future business needs and respond with the appropriate strategies
Experience leading and developing a team
Proven success with driving transformational changes
Project management and/or change management experience a plus
Bachelor's degree required, Advanced degree preferred
