About the role

Yeezy Gap is looking for a versatile, self-driven, full-time Assistant Manager of Fabric R&D to join the team. The Assistant Manager of Fabric R&D will help bring the Yeezy Gap brand to life by supporting the fabric development process and

and strategy throughout the product-to-market process.

Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive, an an effective communicator and collaborator with foundational knowledge of textiles.

What you'll do

  • Support Fabric R&D team in development across all product categories for Yeezy Gap

  • Create RD’s and maintain fabric specifications, cost, and leadtime details in PLM

  • Maintain fabric development tracker spreadsheet and communicate updates and project status to PD team and other stakeholders.

  • Communicate daily with mills and GIS partners to track developments, initiate testing, and maintain key fabric deadlines

  • Order proto and sample yardage and coordinate fabric shipments to and from mills, factories, and design atelier

  • Send out swatches to vendors, GIS, or Yeezy team for development and/or approval purposes

  • Maintain fabric library and organize development binders

  • Assist in making mill apppointments for virtual presentations and in preparing fabric selections for design team

Who you are

  • Have foundational technical knowledge and understanding of woven and knit fabric construction and finishes

  • 2+ years of experience in woven fabric research and development, product engineering or related field.

  • Flexible and able to sustain professional demeanor despite unscheduled work, revisions and short timelines.

  • Strong aesthetic intelligence with a passion for style and fashion that illustrates a balanced understanding of Gap and Yeezy brands.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.

  • Solution-oriented creative problem-solving skills

  • Proactive and able to work effectively with minimal oversight

  • Ability to build and maintain cross functional relationships, strong collaboration skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
