Artist Submission Form

Gap was founded in San Francisco in 1969 — the same era that gave the city its salons and happenings, its open houses and speak-easies where artists, musicians, poets, and makers gathered to share work, argue ideas, and build something together. It was a moment of cultural renaissance in the Bay Area, and Gap was born inside it: a store that started with records, that believed in bridging gaps between people, in access, in the idea that culture belongs to everyone.

More than fifty years later, we're returning to that original instinct. What began as art installations in our spaces has grown into something more deliberate — a full commitment to the creative community that has always defined San Francisco. This program is that commitment made permanent and public. It’s full circle.
