Old Navy

August 30, 2022

We’re not finished introducing you to some of the many incredible team members who have been part of bringing Old Navy’s new Denim Fit Experience to life. Our Team That’s Got Your Back(side) content series continues, and this week we're excited to spotlight one of our store employees, Andrea Diaz, Customer Operations Specialist at the newly opened Imagine Lab store, located at our San Francisco Hub.

Please introduce yourself!

Hi 👋 my name is Andrea Diaz! I currently work at the Old Navy Imagine Lab store located in our Gap Inc. 2 Folsom Hub as a Customer Operations Specialist. I just celebrated my five-year anniversary with the company! My Old Navy career started at the age of 17 as a Brand Associate at the Flagship Old Navy on Market and 4th Street in San Francisco. I then transferred to the Imagine Lab earlier this year to help officially open the store and changed my scope of work. Currently, I support our store leadership team, help to mentor new employees and lead in-store processes that relate to the customer experience.

What do you love about working for Old Navy?

Since the beginning, it’s been easy to love working at Old Navy because it feels like a second home. Something that makes Old Navy special is that no matter where you go or what location you work for, store teams always feel like family. Being here at the Imagine Lab now is no different. Although the team here has a variety of focuses, we work together in harmony.

You work in our brand’s most unique store—our Imagine Lab. What’s that like?

Working at the Imagine Lab has been such a fun experience because of how much we collaborate and ideate with the headquarter teams. As someone on the store side, it’s been eye opening—it’s amazing to see how much thought is put into everything related to product. We just rearranged our store for the new Denim Fit Experience and being able to help organize and place our denim styles in new ways was super exciting. With this new shopping experience, we get to show customers how many styles we have to offer from both stores and online. As someone who engages with customers often, it is very seamless.

As a store employee, what do you think makes Old Navy denim special?

Our denim offering is special because Old Navy crafts jeans to be flattering for all bodies. And they’re super comfortable for all day wear! I feel confident pointing out these aspects to customers.

What makes you an Old Navy #jeanboss?

Being able to find a pair of denim that not only looks great but also feels great is not easy. Because of this, early on in my career with Old Navy, I became a Denim Lead, which has helped me not only learn everything about denim, but also make shopping an easy experience for customers. We’re equipped with information about our entire denim offering, and learn about qualities like stretch factor, rise and wash. To this day, I am still a #jeanboss (Old Navy’s official term for in-store denim experts), constantly exploring all the jeans we have to offer. I feel like I really know how to help guide our customers.

What is your go-to style of Old Navy Denim?

My favorite style right now is our High-Waisted OG Loose (the jeans you see me wearing in these pictures)! However, my tried-and-true Old Navy denim will always be the High-Waisted Super Skinny Rockstars!

Helping customers find the right pair of jeans is just the start. Like what you see? Join our team of bold, creative trailblazers as we build one of the world’s largest apparel brands, committed to the democracy of service and style for all.
