The holiday season is celebrated in many wonderful ways around the world. Our brands are just as diverse in expressing our holiday campaigns for customers from Mexico to Dubai and beyond. See how Gap Inc.  brands uniquely shine during the holidays, all around the world:

Mexico: Gap Bolofest Parade Float
Every November, Mexico City throws the largest annual Christmas parade called Bolofest. This year, our Gap franchise partner in Mexico kicked off the holiday season sponsoring the parade, which drew a crowd of 500,000. The Gap team constructed a float inspired by all of the brand’s favorite holiday moments this year, including Brannon Bear and the iconic Gap logo hoodie featured in this year’s ‘Gift the Thought’ campaign!

Dubai: Banana Republic Holiday Styling Event
Banana Republic in Dubai operated by our franchise partner celebrated the season by throwing a personal in-store styling event. The event at the Dubai Mall was in collaboration with Kelly Lundberg, a popular stylist and influencer in the Middle East. Guests got into the holiday spirit with a performance by a live saxophonist, a styling session with Kelly featuring tips on holiday party dressing, and even a hair styling and braiding bar to help guests kick off the season looking their absolute best.

Japan: Gap Anime Music Video
Gap Japan creatively expressed the “Gift the Thought” campaign through a unique collaboration with a popular Japanese anime artist Hiromi Morishita and a cover of a 90’s hit song to create a Gap-original mash-up music video. The anime coupled with the lyrics of the song, written by up and coming singer Kaho Nakamura, are about the true thought and care behind gift giving to your loved ones in the season. The music video was shared online and on social media, encouraging customers to come into stores to purchase product from the campaign.

United States: Old Navy Shop-in-shops Post Offices
Old Navy stores hosted holiday post office stations inspired by the Netflix film “Klaus.” Just as the film’s Postman Jesper brings joy to the feuding town of Smeerensberg through letter writing, Old Navy encouraged customers to send holiday wishes to their neighbors and loved ones through Klaus-themed postcards. Old Navy provided the postage for letters written in store, and the brand also created a digital postcard that put the customer in a Klaus-themed selfie. Select U.S. flagship stores in New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, and Toronto featured larger shop-in-shops post offices with complimentary gift-wrapping materials. Old Navy offered multiple touchpoints to experience Klaus this holiday season, including exclusive product and an augmented reality activation.

Philippines: Gap Plant Seed Holiday Gift Tags
Gap Philippines, operated by our franchise partner, celebrated Giving Tuesday by giving out eco-friendly holiday gift tags to customers who donated to Hands on Manila, a non-profit organization which seeks to develop community-driven programs with flexible hours to allow volunteering to be integrated into daily schedules of individuals. The gift tags were made of seed paper that can be shredded, planted in soil, and then blossom into plants.
