As we receive updates from our field offices across South Asia, we understand that there have been some concerns voiced about whether the earthquake may have resulted in structural damage in some Bangladesh garment factories.
The Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety, of which Gap Inc. is a founding member, is working in close consultation with Gap Inc.’s team on the ground, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh (Accord), and the Government of Bangladesh to ensure that all workers are safe.
