NEW YORK, April 2, 2008 – Banana Republic is pleased to announce its participation in Earth Week. From April 22nd thru April 27th, one percent of all in-store and online sales, up to $100,000, will be donated to The Trust for Public Land nonprofit organization to support their efforts in preserving urban spaces.

The Trust for Public Land is a national land conservation organization that conserves land for people to enjoy such as parks, community gardens, historic sites, rural lands and other natural places, ensuring livable communities for generations to come.

During Earth Week, Banana Republic customers are able to help in three different ways:

- Banana Republic will donate up to 1 percent of sales, up to $100,000, from purchases made between April 22 – 27 to The Trust for Public Land. This Earth Week initiative is the first step toward the brand’s $1 million commitment to The Trust for Public Land. Find out more at www.BananaRepublic.com/Earthweek.

- Customers can sign-up to volunteer at a Gap Inc. volunteer event in New York and San Francisco on April 27 alongside Banana Republic employees. Gap Foundation will coordinate regional volunteer activities for employees and customers that will focus on community-based restoration in parks and urban spaces in underserved areas in both cities. Banana Republic is proud to also unveil a summer collection of eco-friendly clothes for men and women. In stores on April 8, the 50-piece collection will be made from a variety of renewable of sustainable fabrics, including bamboo, organic linen, cotton and denim, and soy/silk knit blends. The full collection will be available at select stores in the U.S. while select pieces of the eco-friendly collection will be available throughout our U.S. and Japan stores.
