About the Role
As Athleta’s Senior Director of Styling, you’ll lead the creative vision that brings our brand and the Power of She to life through style, storytelling, and inspiration. You will shape how our customers see, feel, and experience Athleta.
This role goes beyond outfit creation-it’s about curating emotional connection. As the Senior Director, you will report to the VP of Creative and work in close partnership with Creative Direction, Brand Marketing, Merchandising, and Product teams to deliver styling that not only elevates creative but drives customer desire and loyalty. You’ll lead a team of internal stylists to craft compelling narratives through looks, outfitting, and trend storytelling that reflect the Athleta’s brand aesthetic.
What You'll Do
- Lead Brand Styling Vision: Define the styling identity for Athleta, balancing performance function and modern fashion to drive both brand relevance and commercial impact.
- Champion the Customer: Create styling concepts that resonate emotionally with our diverse community-celebrating women and girls in motion, confidence, and purpose.
- Shape Seasonal Storytelling: Translate design direction and trend insights into styling narratives that elevate collections and connect to key brand campaigns.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Marketing, Design, Visual, and Merchandising leaders to ensure styling aligns with product strategy, creative briefs, and brand storytelling.
- Inspire and Lead Teams: Mentor, coach, and grow a team of stylists and visual creatives; foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and collaboration.
- Stay Ahead of Trends: Draw inspiration from fashion, wellness, culture, and community-translating the most relevant ideas into authentic Athleta expressions.
- Drive Results: Use customer insights and business metrics to inform creative strategy and deliver compelling styling that supports conversion, brand engagement, and loyalty.
- Represent the Brand: Serve as an external ambassador for Athleta’s styling and creative direction, engaging with media, influencers, and partners to enhance brand visibility and authenticity.
Who You Are
- A visionary styling leader with 10+ years in fashion or retail styling, creative direction, or brand storytelling.
- Deeply knowledgeable about fashion, design, and cultural trends, with a modern point of view on active and lifestyle aesthetics.
- Skilled in leading creative teams and inspiring cross-functional partners to deliver cohesive, impactful work.
- Passionate about women’s empowerment, wellness, and purpose-driven storytelling.
- A collaborative, inclusive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Business-minded with a clear understanding of how styling impacts brand growth and customer connection.

Salary Range: $195,800 - $269,300 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
