About the Role

This role sits at the center of how our brand story comes to life in stores—translating strategy into clear, compelling, and actionable storytelling that energizes teams and drives results.

As Director of Field Communications, you’ll shape how we connect the dots between our brand playbook and store execution, turning priorities into meaningful narratives that inspire action, simplify the work, and create consistency across every store experience.

You’ll lead the evolution of how we communicate with and for our store teams, building innovative content strategies, modern communication systems, and scalable approaches that keep our field informed, engaged, and ready to deliver for our customers.

Partnering closely with Store Operations, Field Leadership, and cross-functional teams, you’ll champion clarity, creativity, and connection—ensuring every message helps bring our brand to life in a way that feels dynamic, human, and uniquely Old Navy.

What You'll Do

  • Provide thought leadership and work closely with Store Operations, Field leaders and other functional business partners to define, develop and drive key business priorities to support stores and brand goals.
  • Lead cross functional teams to manage and implement organizational change while defining success criteria, aligning milestones and stakeholder communications.
  • Independently own and manage strategic initiatives, leading cross functional teams in evaluation of hypotheses, strategic analysis / planning, and operational execution to further store goals and priorities.
  • Develop and refine project scope, structure, and approach, quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Identify key issues, guide analysis, develop conclusions, and present findings to cross functional leaders.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships and consensus.
  • Influence strategy for brand and field team.
  • Plan and execute meetings and field event content with a strong focus on storytelling, clarity, and engagement.
  • Drive cultural and change initiatives and position the brand as a great place to work.
  • Be creative, innovative, and curious; able to move from concept to ideation to execution, strong bias for action.
  • Prioritize, multitask, and oversee multiple concurrent projects and workstreams with various business partners.
  • Assess complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions.

Who You Are

  • Store Operations experience with passion and a track record for developing team members and mentoring future leaders.
  • High attention to detail with demonstrated ability to care for multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Concrete experience managing complex projects and programs requiring thorough leadership to align multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship building skills and experience working closely with senior executives and cross functional partners to influence strategic agendas and operationalize key strategic initiatives.
  • Strong critical thinking and business curiosity, including strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with complex and detailed data to drive insights and decisions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and advisory skills, including speechwriting experience; proven track record of delivering exceptional written work.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic business landscape.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and projects, prioritize, and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Flexible to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of business; able to travel overnight as required.

Salary Range: $175,000 - $227,500 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
