About the Role

Our Staff level DevOps Engineers collaborate and pair with the Development and QA teams to provide continuous improvement of existing features and rollout of new services by ensuring our CI/CD Pipeline environment is stable and able to deliver our mobile platform build artifacts on time and with no issues. They also support our backend systems, ensuring micro-services are deployed and stable, running in an HA/LB environment.

What You'll Do

Our Staff level DevOps Engineers collaborate and pair with the Development and QA teams to provide continuous improvement of existing features and rollout of new services by ensuring our CI/CD Pipeline environment is stable and able to deliver our mobile platform build artifacts on time and with no issues. They also support our backend systems, ensuring micro-services are deployed and stable, running in an HA/LB environment.

The ideal candidate:

  • is a critical thinker with a research-oriented problem-solving approach to bugs and issues
  • is a team player who has experience working and delivering quality code in an Agile environment
  • is familiar with all Scrum related ceremonies
  • identifies learning opportunities within the team and provides feedback in a considerate manner
  • has Software Development experience and knowledge of the Software Delivery Lifecycle including Security Compliance
  • has Comprehensive knowledge of various software languages and platforms such as Java, Oracle, Azure etc. 
  • is an Expert at leading technical requirements and interpretation of business requirements
  • has experience with leading significant projects and mentoring teams
  • has experience with developing teams that are cross-functional and include internal and external stakeholders.

Skill Set:

Required:

  • Considered an expoert in Linux and MacOS.
  • Significant experience in Server Virtualization using VMware products or Docker (or other container creation experience)
  • Significant experience supporting web applications (Ruby and Java based preferred).
  • Significant scripting experience in any of the following (Gradle or Ruby preferred, Perl, Python, Bash, Awk, PHP).
  • Significant Build Automation experience (Jenkins or Codefresh preferred, Hudson, Electric Commander).
  • Test Driven Development experience (juni or lint preferred, phpunit, Rspec, Cucumber).
  • REST API’s using XML and JSON.
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) support including package management workflows (experience with any of the following - Aptitude/dpkg, Yum/RPM).
  • Thorough understanding of common Unix Systems Services (NFS, NTP, DNS, Apache, nginx).

Who You Are

Preferred:

  • Systems automation and provisioning frameworks (experience with any of the following - Chef, Puppet, Cfengine, Knife, Mcollective, Kickstart, PXE).
  • Databases (experience with any of the following – MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
  • Familiar with Artifact/Package Caching strategies (experience with any of the following - CDN, Varnish, memcached, Redis).
  • Familiar with high availability strategies (experience with any of the following - haproxy, Global Traffic Management / Multiple Datacenters).
  • Familiar with Monitoring systems and frameworks (experience with any of the following - Nagios, New Relic, CollectD, Graphite/Grafana).
  • Familiar with Single Sign On Technologies (experience with any of the following - LDAP, Kerberos, PingID, OpenDirectory, PAM).
  • Familiar with Performance testing and analysis.
  • Understanding of Security frameworks (IPTables, Nessus, nmap).
