About the role

The Old Navy Inventory Strategy team strives to make Old Navy Inventory Management best in class through innovation and global process optimization as great partners and functional experts.

The Sr. Planner of Inventory Strategy will drive business and process transformation, support system implementation/optimization, analyze operational KPIs and support sustainability for inventory management. We are looking for a team member who is customer curious and embodies a try fast, learn fast, think big mindset.

  • Enables brand strategies in collaboration with Allocation and other functional SMEs; develop process and implement new capabilities to improve overall inventory effectiveness and workflow efficiencies

  • Applies expertise in technology and process to create solutions that account for interdependencies across systems and functions

  • Drives continuous improvement through system or tool enhancements and process changes

  • Owns analysis that drives operational insights, collaborating with working teams for new system implementations, and influencing partners at various levels

  • Assesses inventory effectiveness, execution and connectivity with Allocation tools;

  • Escalate issues and collaborate with functional experts on workarounds as needed to mitigate risks to deliverables

  • Defines change management approach and functional upskilling requirements

  • Collaborates with Merchandise Planning Analytics on global reporting; own, execute and maintain Allocation specific reporting and templates, champion effort to improveedesign reporting and tools to drive sustainability goals and strategies

  • Appropriately informs & engages manager and MPA/IS leadership

  • Develops & delivers presentations of broader strategy that promote sustainability

  • Represents Inventory Strategy as the SME in cross-functional Allocation strategy meetings, trainings, and labs

  • Delivers project milestones with quality (content, strategic thought) through delivery and managing others as needed

  • Manages work against multiple projects at the same time; using a lens for prioritization

  • Models strong time management by delivering project milestones on time

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years relevant work experience, preferable in Inventory Management

  • Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math

  • Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions

  • Influencing & Collaboration: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action. Effective relationship building skills with a broad and diverse group of business partners

  • Systems and Tools Acumen: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly

  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
