About the role

The Store Maintenance team provides direct support to our stores, cross-brand and cross-company leadership, and subject matter expertise. We are responsible for maintenance of the physical Gap, Inc. fleet of stores, including keeping stores safe and secure, ensuring stores are up to Brand standards, and providing recommendations to maintain and update store assets. We partner most often with our Real Estate Field and Construction departments, as well as Brand Field and HQ leaders.
This role requires a passion for customer service. The individual best suited for this role will leverage advanced customer service and communication skills to address maintenance questions and issues, as well as educate field teams on Store Maintenance processes. A successful candidate for this position is an outside of the box thinker and someone who can work independently. The position is field based, responsible for preventative and demand maintenance of all stores within a district, overseeing a store count of ~200. Travel to each store is expected at least once in the fiscal year to evaluate asset condition and ensure that the store is maintained to standard.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for diagnosing complex maintenance problems and projects, communicating with appropriate parties and driving issues to resolution and completion.
  • Responsible for analyzing data and recommending solutions, procedures and process improvements to meet or exceed customer service standards and department goals at the store and district level.
  • Responsible for implementing cost savings initiatives through store education, vendor education and bundling services where possible.
  • Responsible for the execution of store specific maintenance projects against schedule, budget, and scope.
  • Responsible for tracking maintenance spend and preparing weekly reports for review.
  • Responsible for ensuring maintenance vendors are given the appropriate authorization to perform work in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for developing and executing action plans to respond to emergency situations.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 – 3 years service industry experience (retail preferred) OR
  • 1 – 3 years Facilities contracting/construction knowledge
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, as needed
  • Ability to be on call after normal business hours and on holidays
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate to High Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, Vendor Management / Database concepts
