About the Role

Meet regularly with interdisciplinary business stakeholders and brand leaders to translate business questions and problems into analytic action plans that lead to impactful data analyses. Actively promote data-based decision making to different functional areas by evangelizing analytic capabilities. Serve as an in-house data analysis Subject-Matter-Expert by providing know-how, feasibility, and resource capabilities to the brand’s leadership. Manage and actively prioritize a queue of analysis requests from multiple brand stakeholders. Design, perform and deliver data analyses that measure, monitor and research customer metrics and customer behavioral trends that inform business decisions and deliver insights. Deliver recommendations. Access, query, aggregate, manipulate, consolidate, and summarize omni-channel customer and visitor data from multiple large-scale data sources using data science tools (SQL,R, Python, SAS, Microsoft Power BI, Azure, Adobe, Databricks). Utilize commonly used business tools of MS Excel PPT, SharePoint, Asana, and MS Teams. Partner with other internal data and infrastructure teams (Product Management, testing teams, data science teams) to design, execute and analyze relevant hypothesis testing for emerging digital and customer experience products. Measure summarize and present results of tests and experiments to brand stakeholders by preparing and delivering presentations to stakeholders. Proactively and reactively measure, monitor, analyze, uncover, and interpret relevant customer behaviors to uncover trends and influence brand strategy. Develop and oversee product and customer behavior KPI monitoring systems by developing, evolving, and distributing performance measurement dashboards an reporting. Collaborate with cross brand and cross-functional Analytics team members to stay up to date on larger company initiatives and identify opportunities to contribute to the larger analytics team. Continually learn about Gap Inc.’s data, systems, and capabilities to continually improve impact, influence and data storytelling skills. Mentor and coach junior data analysts. Must be available to work in office 4 days a week. Work from home permitted 1 day a week.

Who You Are

Requirements: Master’s degree in Information Systems Management, Data Science or a related field.

Experience and/or education must include:

  • Programming with an array of data extraction, manipulation and summarization languages and toolsets in SQL, R, or Python on large amounts of complex customer data in relational database environment;
  • Customer Relationship Management concepts;
  • Ability to monitor longitudinal trends in data by designing, building, maintaining and publishing Visualization and dashboard tools using Power BI;
  • Data modeling abilities with ability to implement principles in anomaly detection and interpolation;
  • Statistical/data science methods most commonly used in retail analyses including: forecasting, AB testing, hypothesis testing, machine learning and prediction algorithms;
  • Ability and familiarity to understand and operate in an Agile development team environment;
  • Presentation of technical concepts to non-technical audiences and written, verbal and presentation skills to translate a business need or question into a hypothesis that can be validated via experimentation or data analysis; and
  • Office workflow and work management tools (Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Power Point, Confluence, Sharepoint, and Asana project management)

Job Location: 2 Folsom, San Francisco, CA 94105 & must be available to work in office 4 days a week. Work from home permitted 1 day a week.

Salary Range: $110,400 - $146,400 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
