With a campaign starring Joshua Jackson, the brand offers a modern reflection of heritage, made-to-last garments, and a celebration of curiosity and adventure.
Banana Republic announces the launch of its most unexpected Archive Reissue collection to date, debuting April 14, 2026, in partnership with The Explorers Club. Rooted in the brand’s heritage and reimagined through a contemporary lens, the 20-piece capsule carries forward a modern spirit of curiosity and discovery.
For over 120 years, The Explorers Club has been dedicated to advancing field research, scientific exploration, and conservation. As an international organization whose impact has been felt everywhere from Mount Everest to outer space, The Explorers Club is a fitting partner to illustrate the rarely seen, adventure-oriented pieces curated from Banana Republic’s vast garment archives.
The collection is brought to life through a multi-faceted campaign starring actor, Joshua Jackson, illustrating the intersection of Banana Republic’s heritage and The Explorers Club’s storied legacy. Photographed on location at the historic Manhattan clubhouse by Andrew Jacobs, the imagery depicts a quartet of individuals whose passions span the worlds of exploration, environmentalism, discovery, and style.
“Exploration, curiosity, and a sense of discovery have always been at the heart of our brand,” said Meena Anvary, Chief Marketing Officer. “For more than a century, The Explorers Club has dedicated itself to advancing field research, scientific exploration, and conservation. We are excited to partner with such a pioneering institution on a limited-edited archive reissue collection drawing inspiration from our shared legacy.”
With his commitment to wildlife protection in India and support of marine conservation with Oceana, Jackson embodies what it means to be a modern explorer. The cast is rounded out by marine conservationist and model, Jon Paul Phillips; model and multidisciplinary artist Farah Nieuwberg; and outdoors community-builder, Michael Washington.
The stories of real-world explorers are also featured within the initiative. A short-form video series, directed by Joshua Charow, will spotlight members of The Explorers Club’s EC50, individuals whose work advances science and exploration. Featured explorers include biochemist Dr. Rosa Vásquez Espinoza; marine biologist Daniel Cáceres Barta; and geoscientist and astronaut Sian Proctor.
Archival catalogs, with their fanciful illustrations and colorful product descriptions, are juxtaposed against Jacob’s photography throughout the campaign. Meanwhile, the iconic 1-800 number originally used to order by phone is revived as “1-800-ARCHIVE" with a comedic video that follows Jackson as he considers one of the collection’s hero pieces. Viewers curious enough to try the phone number for themselves will be greeted by an operator, providing colorful stories inspired by the language in the original catalogues.
The individualism expressed by the campaign stars and the historic backdrop of the clubhouse provide a narrative setting for the Archive Reissue collection. The pieces in the predominantly dual-gender capsule were sourced specifically for their unique storytelling capabilities. From the yellow nubuck fisherman’s jacket to the convertible packable rain jacket crafted from durable yet lightweight cotton that folds seamlessly into a tote bag, the offering sheds light on Banana Republic’s rich design history through a contemporary lens.
The campaign will launch across Banana Republic channels on April 14, 2026, coinciding with the release of the collection, available for purchase at bananarepublic.com and selected stores.
