Gap Inc.

luglio 1, 2020

This Pride season required us to celebrate and protest differently than ever before, but no matter how we partook, we were still together in love!

Gap Inc. brands and employees showed up with virtual parties, contributions, and more all while honoring the rich history of LGBTQ activism, particularly those efforts led by people of color.

Giving Back

This is Gap Inc.’s 5th year of partnership to raise funds and visibility for the United Nations Free & Equal campaign and the company is on track to reach a combined total of $500k in contributions to the campaign. And, as part of our ongoing relationship with the  UN, Roy Hunt, Sr. VP of Global Franchise, participated in a panel discussion with the UN Global Engagement Online Series about the human rights and health impacts of Covid-19 on the global LGBTQ community.

Showing Employee Pride

Our employees didn’t let anything get in the way of bringing the Pride spirit! GEAR, our LGBTQ employee networking group, hosted a Father’s Day panel, virtual of course, featuring gay dads who work at the company. They also put together a lively Pride weekend kick-off party with virtual breakout rooms for mingling. HOLA, our Latinx networking group held a fabulous drag show.

Wearing the Rainbow

What’s pride without a little rainbow swag? Our family of brands showed up in style this year. Banana Republic’s Pride apparel featured a stunning rainbow dress alongside a gorgeous LOVE brooch. Old Navy’s Pride merchandise included casual pieces for the whole family, and if you’ve got your dancing shoes on checkout their Pride themed Spotify playlistGAP debuted a classic rainbow tee and partnered up with Paper Magazine to premier a colorful video montage. Janie and Jack launched their Love Makes a Family collection. And, Athleta paired their Pride line with a $10k donation to LGBT SportSafe

Next year we hope to be physically together, but no matter what, Gap Inc. will continue to be together in the spirit of love!
