About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Product Data Manager (PDM) with strong experience in the retail industry to drive the design, delivery, and evolution of our BI Reporting and Analytics solutions. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and BI developers, ensuring that data products are aligned with business goals and deliver actionable insights across sales, customer, and operational domains.

What You'll Do

  • Product Ownership: Define and manage the product roadmap for BI and analytics capabilities in the retail domain (e.g., sales performance, customer behavior, inventory trends).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders across merchandising, store operations, marketing, e-commerce, and finance to understand reporting needs and prioritize data initiatives.
  • BI & Analytics Oversight: Lead the development and delivery of dashboards, KPIs, and analytical models using tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, or Tableau.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Collaborate with data governance and engineering teams to ensure high-quality, well-documented, and trusted data is available for reporting and analysis.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor junior product managers or analysts; facilitate agile ceremonies and delivery planning.
  • Retail Expertise: Translate complex retail business processes into data product requirements. Understand KPIs like same-store sales, gross margin, conversion, and stock turns.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and QA teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor usage of dashboards and reports; gather feedback to improve usability and value.

Who You Are

  • 8  + years of experience in product management, data analytics, or BI in a retail environment
  • Proven success delivering BI and reporting solutions with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy
  • Strong understanding of retail business metrics and data sources (e.g., POS systems, customer loyalty, merchandising, inventory)
  • Experience with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, or similar)
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and SQL
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and requirements gathering skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesGood to Have:
  • Experience working with omnichannel retail data (store, e-commerce, mobile)
  • Knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Exposure to data governance tools like Collibra, Alation, or Unity Catalog
  • Experience in leading a BI modernization or self-service analytics initiative
