About the Role
The VM Specialist is primarily responsible for driving and maintaining visual standards across all franchised locations within the APAC region. This position is based in Shanghai and will provide remote support and guidance to franchisees to ensure effective execution of Gap Inc. brands’ visual merchandising strategy and achievement of key visual performance metrics.
Working in collaboration with the Regional Visual Manager and cross-functional regional teams, this role will support the development and implementation of franchisees’ commercial plans by applying visual merchandising strategies that align with business objectives. These strategies are designed to help franchisees meet and exceed their financial and operational targets, particularly in relation to product launches and seasonal campaigns. Additionally, the Visual Coordinator will play a critical role in communication, training delivery, and compliance monitoring with franchise partners.
What You'll Do
- Ensure execution of visual merchandising strategies and brands’ seasonal directives across all franchise stores
- Coordinate with franchisees to plan and support the execution of window displays, floor layouts and in store marketing
- Review photos of partner execution and seasonal checklists. Share results and feedback with franchisee to improve execution
- Provide guidance and training on brand standards and visual merchandising best practices
- Act as the main point of contact for all Visual Merchandising communication and coordination between Gap Inc. brands and franchisees
- Monitor compliance through store visits, feedback reports, and visual audits
- Partner with key cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Merchandising, Store Design, Account Management, Planning, and field Visual, to support the achievement of business objectives
- Support all new store openings and remodelsefusbishments with planning and execution
- Analyse store performance and customer feedback to continually optimize visual displays
- Maintain consistent brand image across international markets, while allowing for local adaptation when necessary
- Participate in assigned ad hoc projects with internal teams
Who You Are
- Demonstrated over 5 years of experience in visual merchandising within an international retail environment
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of proficiency in visual merchandising execution
- Solid understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and retail performance metrics
- Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with internal teams and franchise partners
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively with both internal and external teams
- Capable of delivering visual merchandising training and coaching to individuals or groups
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines, while maintaining flexibility to adjust working hours as needed
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as required to support business needs
- Prior experience in wholesale and multi-store management background are preferred
