Gap Inc.

July 9, 2021

We are excited to share several accolades Gap Inc. recently received for our steadfast commitment to empowering women and unlocking their potential across the globe. We’re also highlighting initiatives we are supporting as part of our commitment to drive systemic change and enable a culture of belonging for our teams.

  • Gap Inc. is proud to be #1 on World Benchmarking Alliance's (WBA) Gender Benchmark. As one of only three companies to commit to gender equality and women’s empowerment in the supply chain – ensuring a gender needs assessment is undertaken with respect to supply chain workers – we have set clear, measurable and time bound targets to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment. We transitioned nearly100% of our tier-one suppliers to digital wage payments by 2020 and will reach one million women through our P.A.C.E. program by 2022. We have also made tremendous progress embedding inclusion in our hiring practices with 74% of external hires identifying as female and, over the last year, nearly doubled the Black and Latinx representation in our Rotational Management Program.
  • The National Partnership for Women & Families has recognized Gap Inc. as a company that is Leading on Leave. This honor recognizes companies with parental leave policies of at least 12 weeks, that have no distinction between primary and secondary caregivers and are inclusive of adoptive parents. We are thrilled to be a leader in this space and eager for other companies to consider what we already know: that paid leave is good for business.
  • Gap Inc. is proud to be included in Seramount's 2021 Best Companies for Multicultural Women list. Seramount’s “Best 100 Companies” program and its highly respected industry research reports have established Seramount as the undisputed thought leader in the DE&I marketplace.
  • Additionally, Gap Inc. has joined 300+ private sector businesses to advocate for public investment in a comprehensive care economy through the TIME’S UP Care Economy Business Council. The Council seeks to reimagine our nation’s caregiving infrastructure to get people back to work and build a more robust, more resilient economy.

When we empower women, we unlock potential and enrich the communities in which we live and work, creating a more equitable society where everyone belongs.
