Gap Inc.

For us, the health and safety of our employees, customers, and communities is our top priority. Since the beginning of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have been closely following official recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as local government mandates. We have implemented a number of health and safety measures to help keep employees and customers safe, including requiring all employees to wear masks.

We know that one of the most important steps we all can take to help stop the spread of the virus is to wear a mask. In the face of this pandemic, we quickly responded to the need for masks for our customers, employees and communities:

  • We partnered with experts at UCSF to design and create high-quality, reusable, non-medical grade cloth face masks that are available for purchase in our Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, and Athleta stores and e-commerce sites in a variety of styles and patterns.

  • We have also launched a page on our website to help our customers understand why masks are important and how to properly wear their masks with input from experts at UCSF and the Emergency Design Collective.

  • We recently shared our new B2B face mask product line and program which focuses on offering large organizations our masks in mass quantities to supply to their employees as they welcome them back to work. By leveraging our robust and agile supply chain, in less than five weeks we were able to launch the brand-new B2B face mask program and site with our partners.

  • We are also giving our own employees free masks across all our brands and functions in North America. Each employee, whether they work in our stores, distribution centers, call centers, or headquarters, will receive one package of four masks as part of our commitment to safety for all.

  • Finally, as part of our commitment to giving back, our brands came together to donate 200,000 fabric masks as well as a portion of their mask proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club of America, Feeding America, and Baby2Baby.

We’ll continue to closely monitor the ever-changing situation and remain committed to adapting our health and safety measures as needed in response to any updated guidelines or government mandates to ensure we can continue to safely serve our employees, customers and communities.
