About the role

Gap Inc’s Media team is part of the Strategic Growth Office, which is at the forefront of driving our next chapter of growth. As General Manager of Media/Advertising, you will own standing up our media, direct and digital advertising operations for third party sales and operations. You will have the opportunity to develop and scale Gap’s third party selling digital and direct media efforts, developing go-to-market strategies, defining the operations and defining the agency advertising network. This team partners closely with internal and external experts. Build out the first party data capability ensuring brand right placements that drive value through data driven digital and direct solutions. The leader will have accountabilities across all aspects of the Media business including operations, finance, marketing, sales, etc. This leader will build out a global team responsible for operating the Media business, end-to-end in partnership with Gap Inc’s leadership team, customers, and other stakeholders. This role will champion the growth opportunity across our portfolio. The General Manager of Media will report to the Chief Growth Transformation Officer.

What you'll do

  • Build and launch the Media operations and sales in a dynamic, technology-driven environment – motivate teams to bring our future state vision to life
  • Influence and partner with our expert leaders across brands on assets that can be put to market and ensure strategy is complementary to our owned brands
  • Own the P&L for Media; deep understanding of economic flow through (pricing/cost implications of those products and how they have been structured)
  • Build, develop and scale supporting structures required to grow the business (e.g., sales, account management)
  • Manage the Media/Advertising businesses; collaborate Gap Inc partners including finance, operations, product management, tech, and marketing teams to run holistic and profitable business
  • Build and lead the long-term Media strategy, ensuring profitability and continuous innovation

Who you are

  • 15+ years of general management, entrepreneurial, and/or consulting experience in Media/advertising and operations. MBA preferred.
  • Proven record in digital advertising and building sales organizations
  • Demonstrated track record of creating business plans, building out operating structures, leading teams, and delivering results in digital media and advertising ecosystem at a global scale
  • Dynamic, entrepreneurial spirit with strong influence and leadership skills, with the capability of engaging others at all levels of organizations internal and external including C-Suite, Brand Presidents, etc.
  • Experience leading, scaling and developing geographically dispersed cross-functional organizations (includes organization design, recruitment and continued development of the existing team)
  • Demonstrated track record as a strong team leader, critical thinker, and problem solver
  • Passion for, and has provided thought leadership around Media operating and pricing models, best practices, organizational design, etc.
  • Experience executing multiple strategic initiatives and day-to-day priorities concurrently; able to navigate and close opportunities across a diverse set of requirements
