About the role

We are looking for Operations Strategy teammate who can help set and drive Gap Inc.’s operational strategy and optimize delivery across our portfolio of Brands. In this role, you will implement large company-wide programs, evaluate operational interdependencies, and assess opportunities to improve our end-to-end capabilities, with a particular focus on the e-commerce business. Our team works in partnership with Gap Inc.’s COO and other operations leaders across our portfolio of brands to deliver our products to customers. You will collaborate, influence, and strategize with cross-functional partners to understand business priorities, design business solutions, and lead implementation across our portfolio of brands. You will be responsible for representing operations functions in large cross-functional programs, developing detailed analyses, creating executive level presentations, and managing stakeholders. We are looking for someone who loves to jump in, problem solve, and drive change across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Work closely with Operations leadership, providing thought partnership on our key business priorities to support Gap Inc. goals.
  • Own and manage strategic projects from strategy to pilot, working with cross-functional teams, evaluating hypotheses, defining project scope, and leading operational execution.
  • Develop and refine project scope, structure, and approach. Provide structure to complex problems using frameworks and quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Identify key issues, guide and execute analysis, develop conclusions, and present findings to cross-functional leaders. Anticipate roadblocks and proactively address issues before they impact business results.
  • Ensure relevant programs/projects are on track, including budget, timeline and scope.

Who you are

  • MBA or equivalent + 4 years of experience in strategy / management consulting, retail / consumer products, or similar strategic role.
  • Some experience in operations, logistics / supply chain, store operations, ecommerce, and/or product to market processes. Experience working in apparel retail a plus.
  • Fluency in PPT and Excel; adept at analyzing data and developing executive-facing presentations. Aptitude and willingness to “get one’s hands dirty” and deep dive into details.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a dynamic business landscape. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong critical thinking and business curiosity; ability to drive insights and decisions utilizing multiple inputs and data sources.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and executive presence. Experience working closely with senior executives. Ability to work across functions to influence strategic agendas and operationalize initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills. Ability to own projects from strategy through pilot with minimal supervision.
