About the role

The VP of Real Estate Strategy and Finance is responsible for the development and execution of brand Real Estate Strategies. This individual will be key member of the Global Real Estate leadership team and a close business partner with brand leaders, especially brand CFOs. The role will include three direct reports that have oversight primarly for Gap Inc. and brand real estate strategies, market planning, deal level financial analysis, reporting and analysis and capital budgeting. In addition this role will work closely with the ROD (rent, occupancy and depreciation) team in the shared service center that own budget, forecast and close process for ROD.

What you'll do

  • Lead the development of real estate strategies, market planning and initiatives for each brand
  • Oversee the real estate committee process and ensure sound deal level financial analysis. Deals level analysis primarily includes new stores, closures, and lease actions
  • Ensure goals and tracking of real estate actions and continuously drive improve the economic profile of the fleet
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with Global Real Estate leadership team and brand CFOs to ensure financial impact of real estate actions are understood and aligned with brand strategies
  • Continuously streamline processes to ensure efficient workflow
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance

Who you are

  • 10-15+ years of financial experience, retail and real estate experience preferred
  • BS/BA Required; MBA preferred
  • Capable of strategically influencing business partners through diplomacy, building consensus, negotiating, and exercising leadership skills
  • Proven ability to understand and clearly articulate how value gets created, drive growth, and profitability
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize data into business decisions
  • Ability to develop talent; influence and drive strategy through cross functional teams
