About the role
Job Responsible for maintaining uptime for all the applications that serve customer experience domain, which includes the Gap Inc family of websites, Order management systems and the stores point of sales across all geographies. Responsible analyzing failures and providing solutions and taking critical decisions to mitigate on the spot, as well as proactively identify/develop and suggest design changes, inclusive of software/hardware/infrastructure. Quarterback all the severity issues and oversee the root cause analysis process and ensure all action items are tracked to closure. Build monitoring tools and automation for multiple complex systems to proactively catch production anomalies and collaborate with multiple products teams on effective usage of these tooling. Give solutions for architectural requirements in order to build performant, reliable, and highly scalable software systems and partner with architect teams to ensure best practices for availability and resilience are followed. Work with architects on design and implementation of modernizing systems so that it can be seamlessly moved to cloud infrastructure and ensuring the optimal performance and highly reliable solution is in place. Responsible for analyzing the metrics in order to perform peak capacity planning and identifying bottlenecks and resolving so that the company has flawless holiday sales across both stores and ecommerce channels. Analyze multiple metrics across systems to define service level objectives and service level indicators, that can quickly point to an issue and suggest and implement solutions with multiple teams to ensure its followed and maintained. Lead the current site reliability team and mentor and train them to be able to support these cross functional applications.
Who you are
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field followed by 8 years of progressive, professional, post baccalaureate experience in job offered or related occupation.
Experience and/or education must include:
- Data structures, relational and non-relational databases, Cloud based microservices, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
- Java/J2EE architectures and JVM configuration
- Python, Perl, Ruby, Java/Scala, or C
- NIX-based large-scale web operations
- Monitoring, Metrics and Logging tools
- Linux and Unix
