This week, Old Navy publicly launched its new values expression: The Imagine Mission. The initiative encompasses three pillars of values-based efforts––inclusivity, Opportunity, and Sustainability––to realize a more fair, healthy, and happy world. As part of the roll-out, the company released the following manifesto on a colorful new splash page:
Since its founding, Old Navy has been engaged in the communities in which it does business, and this new initiative will help customers and employees alike plug into those efforts and see the many ways in which the company is using its platform as a force for good.
Old Navy has published a commitment to change for its employees, brand, and communities. That commitment includes doubling the representation of Black and Latinx employees at all levels in US HQ offices by 2025, and working to evolve the company’s culture so that it lives up to its values of inclusion, equality, and belonging.
Inclusivity shows up in Old Navy’s apparel offerings as well. Size Yes! Includes 216 sizes across the whole family. Gender-neutral collections are for everybody and every body.
Old Navy is proud to be a founding partner in the Open to All pledge, committing to having stores open to all regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or ability.
Old Navy supports thousands of young people in finding their first jobs, every year. The company’s in store job training and mentorship program “This Way ONward” aims to empower 20,000 participants by 2025. And, through nonprofits like the 20-year partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs, the company helps build the next generation of leaders with workforce readiness, leadership training, clothing donations, and more!
Old Navy is working toward significant goals that will reduce the impact the business has on the planet.
The company is 88% of the way toward a goal of having 100% of its denim made with water-saving techniques, and is working toward having more clothes made with recycled cotton.
Our plastic hanger recycling program, established in July 2019, sends used hangers to recycling centers instead of landfill. The company has saved 459,943 pounds of plastic to date.
