GAP TO OPEN "LOVE" ACCESSORIES SHOP AT 54TH AND 5TH FLAGSHIP IN NEW YORK

SAN FRANCISCO—November 8, 2004— Just in time for the holiday gift-giving season, Gap will showcase its popular accessories in a unique shop at its Fifth Avenue and 54th Street flagship store in Manhattan. Inspired by customer comments, such as “I love my Gap bag,” the accessories-only space will be aptly named "Love" and will highlight the brand’s complete range of must-have accessories.

The 800-square-foot space, which opens November 18, will feature a new interior concept as well as specially designed packaging to house the accessories. The packaging, which will also become available at select Gap stores nationwide, includes accessory-sized boxes and bags, with printed quotes from the Gap design team about their inspiration for the accessories. And the shopping bags will display the "Love” logo in the style of the original Gap blue box.

Merchandise in the shop includes bags, hats, scarves, gloves, shoes, hosiery, belts, pins and brooches.

Gap accessories have developed a major following over the last few years. Iconic items in recent seasons include the Gap Trench Bag, the flower corsage pins and the scarf belts featured in the current Gap ad campaign featuring Sarah Jessica Parker.
