Recruiting Process
Answer:
You will receive an acknowledgment that your resume has been received. If there is an open position that matches your qualifications, we will contact you to schedule interviews with the hiring team.
Answer:
More stores will be posting their jobs online in 2007. Until then, learn how to apply for positions in our stores by visiting the Stores page.
Answer:
Once we determine a match with an open position, you'll be contacted to first meet with a Human Resources representative. In addition, certain positions may also require skill testing, drug screen and/or background check prior to employment. After the initial meeting, we'll let you know if there is a potential match and set up interview meetings. This may require more than one visit to our offices, but our goal is to make this process as convenient and informative for you as possible. Of course, references will be checked before any offer of employment is extended.
Answer:
Believe us when we say you don't have to wear a suit and tie, unless you want to. We're pretty casual around here, but we're serious about working hard. If you're still looking for suggestions, we would suggest "business casual" — but don't be afraid to let your own personal style shine through.
Answer:
If a currently available position matches your qualifications, we'll call you to schedule interviews with the hiring team. In addition, your resume will be entered into our database for our recruiters to access for future opportunities.

All of our stores are responsible for handling their hiring needs individually. Answer:
Absolutely. There are countless opportunities across our brands, divisions, functions and countries where employees can express themselves, their ideas and potential every day. Gap Inc. believes in contributing to the personal and professional growth of our people. This includes supporting opportunities within and between our headquarters, stores, direct and distribution divisions. In fact, we work to promote internal opportunities to Gap Inc. employees before extending an offer to any external candidate.
Locations
Answer:
Yes. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you will simply need to provide the necessary documentation that proves you can legally work in the United States in order to be hired.

Some key functions of our International division are based in our New York and San Francisco headquarters offices. Visit the Job Search area to find and apply for current opportunities.
